Evangelion - Figure Shinji Ikari & Evangelion No. 1, New Theatrical Edition Desktop Army

In the dark, multi-layered world of Neon Genesis Evangelion, the Rebuild of Evangelion film series — also known as the New Theatrical Edition — reimagines the epic battles between EVAs and Angels with a fresh cinematic flair. This Desktop Army figure captures the very essence of those titanic clashes in a compact form factor, perfect for your desk or display shelf.

Shinji Ikari, the series’ central pilot, embodies both the heart and the struggle of EVA Unit-01: a teenager haunted by doubt who finds both weapon and refuge within the biomechanical giant. Their ambiguous bond—fraught with fear and adrenaline—underscores Shinji’s inner conflict and the Unit’s unprecedented power under his reluctant command.

In terms of design, this New Theatrical Edition faithfully reproduces Unit-01’s redesigned lines: sharper armor plates, exposed mechanical reinforcements, and a vivid purple/green color scheme highlighted by metallic accents. Shinji, clad in his white-and-black plugsuit, stands ready before the EVA, poised to sync and unleash the film’s most intense sequences. The chibi styling of the Desktop Army line softens proportions while preserving the pilot’s determined expression and the robot’s imposing silhouette.

Key strengths of this figure include its extensive articulation—each limb on both Shinji and the EVA allows for a wide range of dynamic poses, from combat stances to Progressive Knife angles—and its precise paint application, alternating matte surfaces with glossy highlights on wiring and cockpit details. At a compact height of approximately 15 cm, it fits easily anywhere, letting you relive your favorite film moments.
