In Star Wars, R2-D2 is one of the most iconic astromech droids in the saga, a loyal companion to legendary heroes such as Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala and Luke Skywalker. Ugears recreates him here as an officially licensed wooden 3D puzzle, capturing his instantly recognizable look with a colorful finish and several interactive features.

The model is equipped with movable legs allowing two display positions, as well as a functional LED mini projector capable of showing real Star Wars images through his “eye.” An internal spring-powered mechanism also allows R2-D2 to move forward: simply wind the system by turning the hidden disc under the head, then use the Start/Stop lever to set him in motion. The projector images are interchangeable, stored in a dedicated compartment inside the body, and can be replaced using the included tool.

The design faithfully recreates R2-D2’s signature silhouette with his white cylindrical body, detailed dome and iconic blue markings. The visuals show a light wood construction highlighted by darker brown edges, while printed panels provide the familiar detailing of the beloved droid. Depending on the chosen setup, he can be displayed standing upright or leaning slightly forward as if in motion.
