Junji Ito x Yoshiki Fujimoto Collaboration - Tomie figure

Tomie is one of the most iconic figures in Junji Ito’s universe, a world of horror where fascination, obsession, and the breakdown of reality are woven into an instantly unsettling atmosphere. Through this character, horror does not rely only on the grotesque, but also on cold beauty, magnetic presence, and the ability to disturb without ever losing an appearance of elegance. This official 27 cm PVC figure, produced by Mamegyorai as part of the Junji Ito × Yoshiki Fujimoto collaboration, captures that duality by placing Tomie’s perfect calm directly above the organic horror that surrounds her.

Within Junji Ito’s world, Tomie holds a very singular place because she is neither a conventional victim nor a simple nightmare creature. She instead embodies a form of destructive allure, a power of attraction that pushes others toward fascination, jealousy, violence, or madness. Her identity is built on that constant contradiction between flawless appearance and deep corruption, between almost ordinary beauty and a presence that cannot be contained. This piece translates that singularity especially well by giving her a serene, almost indifferent attitude, as if the horror spreading beneath her were only a natural extension of her existence.

Visually, Tomie is shown standing in a graceful and highly controlled pose, with the body slightly turned and one hand raised near her smooth black hair. She wears a long sleeveless dress in a satin-like burgundy purple tone, tied at the waist, with flowing folds that reinforce the impression of quiet elegance. Her face keeps a calm, closed, and self-assured expression, with a direct gaze that contrasts sharply with the base beneath her feet. That base takes the form of an organic mass made of intertwined faces, hair, and flesh, creating a disturbing composition that immediately evokes the monstrous proliferation associated with Tomie. The contrast between the clean, almost refined silhouette of the character and the visceral horror of the base gives the whole figure an extremely strong showcase presence.
