Kiryu, also known as Type-3 Mechagodzilla, is one of the major mechas in the Godzilla saga. Appearing in Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and later in Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., it was created as an ultimate weapon designed to fight Godzilla. This official 15.5 cm articulated figure from Tamashii Nations / Bandai Spirits’ S.H.MonsterArts line is made of ABS, PVC, and die-cast metal, and depicts Kiryu in its Heavily Armed Type / High Mobility Type Movie Graphic Plus version.

In Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., Kiryu returns after previous battles, repaired and modified to continue its fight against Godzilla. Built using the bones of the original Godzilla, it is not just a combat robot: its connection to the first kaiju gives each appearance a special tension, somewhere between human weapon, monstrous memory, and mechanical tragedy. This version allows both configurations, Heavily Armed Type and High Mobility Type, to be recreated for different battle scenes from the film.

Kiryu is shown with dark metallic armor made up of many mechanical plates, cables, claws, and technical details. Its massive silhouette stands on powerful legs, with broad shoulders, an angular head, and a long articulated tail. The set includes a back unit, two railgun sets, an interchangeable head that recreates the damage to the right eye, and parts to display the right arm’s Spiral Claw. The Movie Graphic Plus plate also allows it to be displayed with a visual inspired by the film poster.
