In Gintama, former samurai Gintoki Sakata runs the Yorozuya odd-jobs business in Edo, a city transformed by the arrival of the Amanto, extraterrestrial beings who have changed Japanese society. Alongside Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura, he accepts all kinds of unusual assignments, often leading to absurd situations, while also becoming involved in battles connected to his past and the political conflicts of his time. The series combines comedy, action and more dramatic moments involving a large cast of characters.
