Basically, the two characters you can afford were more of an enemy. Indeed, after being de-petrified, Gen Asagiri had to put his talents as an illusionist at the service of Tsukasa, in order to know if Senku Ishigami was dead or not. Seeing that Senku is doing much better in his survival, he will finally join his ranks. You just have to choose if you want only one of the two or if you want one of each to make a nice little duet.
